    Welcome to our Ellensburg Campus!

    We are excited to have you visit our campus and experience the vibrant and dynamic environment that Central Washington University has to offer. Our knowledgeable student ambassadors will lead you on an engaging and comprehensive tour, showcasing our residence halls, academic buildings, and our beautiful campus. Tours last approximately 60-75 minutes and will be primarily outdoors, so please wear appropriate clothing for the weather.

    CWU is an open campus Monday-Friday. You are welcome to explore our academic buildings before or after your tour. If you are interested in speaking with a particular department while you are visiting campus, we encourage you to reach out to that department and setup a time to meet.

    TIPS FOR YOUR VISIT


    Best time to visit
    We recommend that you visit CWU when classes are in session, as you will get the best exposure to campus activities and perspective about student life. 

    Walking a mile in our shoes
    The campus tour is a mile-long walking tour, so wear comfortable walking shoes or appropriate shoes for snowy/wet conditions. To request disability accommodation for a campus tour, please call our office at 509-963-1262.     Over the hill or through the woods
    If driving to CWU, please allow yourself plenty of travel time. We strongly recommend checking the WSDOT website for current traffic and weather conditions. Plan an extra 15 minutes to park and walk to the check-in location. Check in will be in SURC 139.

    FAQs


    Are tours only for students?
    Guests are welcome to join prospective students on the walking tour. We share a great deal of helpful information aimed at prospective students and their support network.

    What if someone in my group has a disability? 
    Central Washington University is committed to providing access, equal opportunity, and reasonable accommodation in its services, programs, activities, education, and employment for individuals with disabilities. To request disability accommodation for a campus tour, please call our office at 509-963-1262.

    Do I have to pay for parking?
    Once you register for a tour, you will receive a confirmation email which includes a link to a free parking permit for the day of your visit and instructions on where to park. (Be sure to check your spam.) You will need to print your permit and place it on your dash. We are happy to print your permit for you if you call ahead: 509-963-1262. Parking is free on the weekends.

    Will the Wildcat Shop be open when we visit?

    The wildcat shop is open Monday through Friday from 8-5 PM and Saturdays from 11-4 PM. Store hours may vary during breaks and holidays.

    Will we be going into a classroom?
    The tour will not be able to go into a classroom. However, the tour will incorporate a walkthrough of two academic building.

    Will we be going into residence halls? 
    Yes, your tour will include a visit to a residence hall.  

    What if I am running late for a tour?
    Please call us as soon as possible to inform us: 509-963-1262. Depending on how late you plan to arrive, we may offer you a self-guided walking tour or suggest joining a later tour.

    How do I cancel and reschedule a tour?
    You can call or email our office, and we will cancel your visit. We can also help you register for a new date and time.
